2013 was a year of high profile gang rape incidences for India. There were waves of protests intermingled with violent confrontation with police throughout India. On the 17. of March a Swiss couple was attacked, and the woman was gang raped by six men of the Kanjar Tribe. I was sent by the newspaper Blick to report and Photograph this story.

While they were riding a motorcycle they discovered the Swiss couple who were trying to reach out to others for help. Devin Kumar and Deepak stopped and were able to bring the couple to the police station.

The last man in the Kanjar Village who would be of an age to provide income is blind and there fore not even able to provide for himself. All other males in the village are either old men, or young children.
